Goodnight Blog (for the weekend)

Flipingos attack the Burning Flipside Parks Department lead.

Goodnight room. Goodnight moon. Goodnight cow jumping over the moon. Goodnight light, and the red balloon… Goodnight blog?

Never fear, Approximately 8,000 Words is not going away for good. But I am going away Friday through Sunday for Safetycide, the weekend-long intensive training being offered to Rangers and other members of the Flipside Safety volunteer team. It’s going to be a fun and informative weekend; I’m looking forward to learning about Rangering as much as I am looking forward to spending time with some of my friends and Burner family.

But until I leave I have to focus on some paying work, like proofreading and freelance writing. As a result, regular posting here is suspended till Monday, March 28 when we will return with the next installment in the Ethical Slut read-along, covering Chapter 11 of The Ethical Slut, second edition.

If you’re just dying for some of my writing until then, you can check out some of the work I’ve been doing on the Burning Flipside website. I’m the Web Content Lead for the 2011 event and, together with my stable of eager writers and photographers, we’ve been creating some great articles about our community. In a recent article, I covered the Parks Department Fair and the Flipingo Menace:

Citizens of Pyropolis will have to be on the lookout for vicious Flipingos, or Flipside Flamingos, who can be hired by the Parks Department to surround unsuspecting theme camps in the dead of night. I learned about this and other department plans at the recent Parks Fair, which was held this past Saturday at the Warehouse. It was a great event, full of music, good food and merriment. Attendees at the fair were able to schedule “Flipingo hits” for the upcoming Burning Flipside event, as well as purchase “insurance” to prevent Flipingo attacks.

As always, thank you for reading my blog, sharing it with your friends, and following me on Twitter. See you on Monday!
