Today at about 1:30pm I will go live from Austin’s #WeCantWait protest, which demands that President Obama live up to his campaign promises. In 2008 he promised to sign an executive order granting protection from workplace discrimination over sexual orientation and gender identity. This order would protect, with a single swipe of Obama’s pen, the 20% of workers who are employed by companies with federal contracts. In 2012, he has said this is no longer a priority.
I’ll be going live shortly from the first of a series of escalating, nationally coordinated actions demanding queer rights, NOW.
Update: The live stream link has been replaced with the archived video of this action.
