Today is International Fisting Day, as declared by sex-positive porn celebrities Jiz Lee and Courtney Trouble.
Many people see fisting as something exotic or extreme. For a lot of basically vanilla, heterosexual people it is an act that “only lesbians do.” There are odd notions about this among even the kinkiest — find a picture of fisting on FetLife and you are sure to find at least one comment from a woman alluding to how she doesn’t want to be ‘stretched out.’
Let’s break the myths now — I’ve been fortunate enough to have several lovers who enjoyed being fisted, and enjoyed penetrative sex — and believe me, so did I. The elasticity of girl parts are truly extraordinary, capable of pushing out an entire baby with the right hormones, and then springing back to delightful sexyness later. Combined with well-toned kegel muscles, trust me, your hand properly inserted is not going to break it.
This is not a how-to guide for fisting. The organizers of this holiday recommend this fisting guide, which seems as good as any. Instead I want to talk about my experiences with fisting. Just for reference, I have only fisted girls, and never tried anal fisting.
I’ve been blessed with small hands for a man.
The first woman I ever got to experience this with was my lover Cherry. I’m sure she won’t mind me writing this — she’s outspoken and proud of her love of fisting. She’d been practicing with other lovers, as had I, and it was the perfect moment — the perfect time anyway, since it took lots of patience and lube. I remember how amazing it felt to feel those last inches slip in and to curl my hand into a fist. Even the slightest movements drove her wild with sensation, and the sensation of being surrounded by warmth was almost as erotic for me.
What made the experience even more memorable was how our pleasure enabled others. I wrote about the experience in my LiveJournal (back in 2006, before this blog began) and a dear friend of mine found the entry intriguing — she’d heard of fisting before, but hearing about my enjoyment of it drove home the idea that it was something normal people could do. She sought out her own first fisting experience soon after. Years later, we became lovers and I got to enjoy fisting her!
All our bodies are a little different, so we’re not all equipped to enjoy fisting. My point though is that I’m tired of this being seen as a freakshow act, or a form of sexual mutilation. Rather, it’s an act of intense intimacy between two lovers, and a celebration of the capabilities and the sensitivity of the female anatomy.
I’m happy to celebrate International Fisting Day with people of all orientations and genders. Later tonight, the celebrations will continue — I plan to test out my new BabeLube Natural by fisting Pet. Reviews will follow…
