See Kit O’Connell On Sunday At The Houston Anarchist Bookfair

Posted in Archive, and Journalism

I’m appearing this Sunday at the Houston Anarchist Bookfair along with my educational collective, Oh Shit! What Now?

I’ll teach a revised version of our class, “Punching Nazis” from 11:15am to 12:15pm:

We’ll look at the origins of “antifaschistische aktion” in Germany, follow its spread to the United States, and get a brief overview of major fascist and antifascist events since the election, including some in Texas you may not have heard about. Then we’ll talk about the numerous ways you can be an antifascist, from getting racists fired at work to dressing up as clowns to yes, punching them in face. Rather than debating the morality of committing violence in self defense against genocidal murderers, this workshop aims to create a space to discuss the full scope of possible responses to the threat of white supremacy and nationalism.

We’ll also have zines available in return for donations, and we’ll be sharing a table with the Austin Anarchist Black Cross, who have important information on supporting political prisoners in Texas and beyond.
