I review sex toys for sextoy.com. You can find the Le Rêve G-Spot Vibrator and other vibrators on their site. Disclaimer: Although I don’t receive any money for these reviews (unless you purchase something via an affiliate link to the vendor), I am receiving free toys.
I’ll get right to the point and say this is a great battery-operated vibrator, especially for the price. Since I gave it to her, my pet has been busy wearing out the batteries between visits to see me. This is not necessarily the best g-spot vibrator, but it is a good toy.
Le Rêve comes in simple packaging — in a plastic insert in a cardboard box. The box doesn’t contain any instructions other than what you’ll find on the back, however it does feature a circumflex for added Frenchness. My pet says the name translates to ‘the dream.’
For whatever the presentation may lack, this vibrator seems like a well made toy. It’s constructed of solid, non-porous, phthalate-free plastic and has a pleasant firmness and weight. Since the toy is waterproof you can both take it into the bath with you and easily clean it with soap and water. Unlike a lot of “waterproof” sex toys, the battery cover and controls are separate; this means there is no danger of accidentally twisting the speed control too far and opening the battery compartment underwater. To get this toy ready, you twist off the end, remove a battery insert, place two AAA batteries in the insert, replace the insert in the battery compartment and screw the cover back on. The cover goes on snugly and securely although I guess it might wear out with rough treatment like dropping it repeatedly on a hard shower surface.
The controls are located on the handle of the vibrator. There are two simple + and – buttons. To turn the vibrator on, you will press the + sign. You can then increase the speed by pressing the + sign again up to 3 times, for a total of 4 speeds. Pressing – on the lowest setting will turn the vibrator off. When Le Rêve is turned on, it has a little red LED; however, it is a fairly quiet toy for the power, creating a low hum that should be silent behind closed doors. Best of all, the vibrations are located in the tip of the toy, which is where they belong, rather than in the base. It’s about 7″ long, but has a curve which limits its insertable length (but is also part of its charm).
Although she certainly gets a lot of use out of it by herself (it’s supplanted her pocket rocket as her favorite toy), I think my pet and I have more fun with partnered play with this toy. The handle is easy to hold onto, and I can target her g-spot better with it than she can. It works great for targeted clitoral stimulation, but seems to get more use through insertion. The toy has been the source of some very strong, and often unexpected orgasms during this kind of fun.
There are of course many fancier vibrators on the market today, but if you are looking for a relatively inexpensive, yet well made and hygienic vibrator, Le Rêve may be the toy for you.
